Todd Stone has worked in education and training for the last 20 years. After graduating college, he began his career in the motion picture industry, where he learned how to make movies by working behind the scenes during the production of Steven Spielberg’s Lost World and David Fincher’s Fight Club.
In 1999, Todd transitioned to technology as a web developer, and eventually taught technology courses at College of the Redwoods (CR) in Northern California. While teaching at CR, Todd developed the college’s first online and hybrid course formats through online web-based courses mixed with in-person classes.
Todd’s interest in technology and education continues. Through the California State University system, he taught faculty how to teach online, worked as an educational technologist, and taught an online course. In 2002, he returned to college and completed his Master’s in Education with a focus on Online Delivery for Adult Learners.
When Todd isn’t teaching online, he works for Dell Technologies as a Learning Consultant. Over the last few years, he has been active in Articulate Storyline course development and gamification. Last year, his team won the Brandon Hall and Hermes industry award in 2018 for a “Day in the Life” gamified online simulation training.
Todd lives in Seattle and spends his free time with family exploring the beautiful Pacific Northwest, traveling, and competing in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Spartan endurance obstacle races.
