After his studies in Computer Science at the Friedrich Alexander University of Erlangen-Nürnberg, Marcus Kesseler joined Siemens Corporate Research in Munich. From 1992 to 1995 he was assistant professor at the Chair for Artificial Intelligence at the University of Erlangen-Nürnberg. In 1995, the research topic for his incomplete dissertation became the first SCHEMA product. For 20 years, Marcus Kesseler has been one of the two CEOs and major stakeholders of SCHEMA.
