About Charles Cooper
Charles Cooper is Vice President of The Rockley Group, Inc. With almost 30 years of experience in the high-tech industry, Charles has worked with tech writers and content creators of all sorts as they struggled to get their point across with inadequate technology. In the early 80′s he struggled to explain concepts in text that could have been explained easily with an image or two, had the technology to display those images been readily available to our users. Today he sees other challenges.
He has used just about every available medium for information delivery; paper, online, optical, CD and DVD one way and interactive delivery and broadband/online systems. He sees today’s near-ubiquitous broadband, and media-savvy devices as an important step, enabling content creators to achieve their vision of providing their users the information they need, in the manner that best suits their needs.
Charles has a strong background in content creation, process and business planning, and believes that content, and the underlying taxonomies, structure, organization and workflow must work together to meet the needs of both the company and the end user.
He is co-author of DITA 101, and is currently working on Metadata 101, a new book in the Rockley Group “101 Series”.
